Internet Marketing | Money Keywords
If you have been doing internet marketing for any length of time you realize how important traffic is. I realized this not long after buying many programs which all left out one critical point, marketing. It is impossible to run a successful home based business and make money online if there is nobody seeing what you have to offer, no matter how much time or money you have spent putting a website together.
In order to get people to your site, you must have content relevant to what they are searching for. Before developing content it is a good idea to get in the mind of someone searching for what you are offering. What I do is take a blank sheet of paper and write down all the keyword phrases, which can consist of one or more words but usually at least two, I would use to search for whatever the specific item is.
For instance, say you have a gardening website or blog and you write an article about elephant ears. If a person searches using the phrase “elephant ears” the search results will show results for a plant, a food item, and a mammal’s body part. To make sure the person searching finds your site, you need to use a more specific phrase, which is known as a long-tail keyword, such as “elephant ear plant.”
The phrase(s) should be included in the content, of course making sense, at least once per hundred words. The number of times a keyword phrase should appear is all over the map. Some say 1% or 2%, others say 5% to 20%. It depends on what you are basing it on, how many keywords you are going after in the content, how much content there is, your competition, and what the content is for or about. This is called keyword density.
Ideally, no more than six to eight keywords (I have even heard ten) should be used per page/post/article. One thing I do, as I am sure most internet marketers do, is do some keyword research before targeting any phrases. What I look for is a phrase that has a high search volume and a relatively low amount of results. I like to find keyword phrases which produce under 100,000 results, which you will usually see on the upper right of the search results (Results 1 of about 96,520 for…). The Google Keyword Tool is a good free tool to use and even gives you suggestions for variations of your keyword phrase, but is limited as to the amount of information it gives you.
I recently found and started using a keyword tool which not only provides every kind of keyword analysis
you will need, but also gives you long-tail keywords, Google Adwords, and Googgle Adsense information, including current ads and putting together content for Google Adsense campaigns. This tool has been a real time saver and has provided very valuable keywords and information. Since only about one in five keyword phrases are actually “money keywords,” or keywords which produce monetarily, any additional information and time savings is very beneficial!
Go to www.TopEndKeywords.com to get this tool and save yourself some time and frustration, take it from someone who has been there! I strongly recommend you first watch the tutorials to get the most from the software!
